Quickstart. An exciting format for learning tennis designed for kids ages 10 & under. Relax knowing our experienced coaching staff is teaching your child to enjoy playing the game right from the beginning while developing a lifelong passion and appreciation for tennis. Our USTA endorsed format with an emphasis on coordination and athletic development utilizes smaller courts and rackets to give your child confidence and assure success. Tailored to suit their needs and abilities, our Quickstart program enables children to rally back and forth over the net making them more enthusiastic about continuing to play by seeing immediate progress.
Tiny Tots: Ages 5-6. This class is designed to teach your child to enjoy playing tennis right from the beginning. Tailored to suit their needs and abilities, this program creates a positive, fun and active environment.
Quickstart Beginner. This class is an introduction to tennis for players learning the very basics in a non-competitive setting. The skills learned include fundamental strokes and maintaining a rally. A 36 ft. court and foam balls will be used to assure your child will have fun and be successful.
Advanced Beginner- Challengers. This program emphasizes proper techniques for all basic strokes. Participants work on racquet skills and ball control. The importance of proper footwork is also introduced. Low compressions balls are used to help juniors achieve these goals. Entering students should know basic strokes and must maintain a rally in the short court.
Intermediate I- Contenders. The primary focus for players at this stage is movement while using proper technique. Live ball drills and games are used to prepare students for match play. Gateway level tournament play is encouraged. Entering students should be able to rally 10 balls in a row from the short court, 8 balls from full court, and make 4 out of 10 serves from the baseline.
Intermediate 2- Excellence. At this level, court strategy, ball placement, and stroke selection are emphasized. Real game situations are used to help students focus on different spins and court movement. Again, players are now successfully playing Gateway tournaments. Players are also preparing for high school play. Entering students can maintain full court rallies of 15-20 balls with spin and be able to make 6 of 10 serves with a continental grip. Match play is also available for these students with emphasis on serving, footwork, agility, singles/doubles, and the beginnings of the mental game.
Junior Interclub This clinic is for High JV and Varsity levels or younger juniors who are actively playing in tournaments. Chip (under spin), lots of strategy on doubles and singles, volleys, overheads, and work on approaching the net are drilled. This is our highest program. Almost all of the juniors who come up through this system go on to play top JV and Varsity tennis. Match play at this level will emphasize game development and pushing to a new level.
